Hearing reports of record fur buyer attendance at FHA - and a higher volume of fur then expected. Hope this market is finally turning….. trappers; supply dealers, buyers all need it. Would make my day to see Coyotes advance a little and rats to fully clear. The Beaver story is a good one; and a little surprising…last sale with tight supply - all bets are off by next spring with high volumes

Nimzy -

Would be happy to see 5.25 US average on rats.still have over a thousand stacked at auction
Guess $4.50 US - but they all move this time

My other guesses;

$45 US on Western heavy Coyotes (have some nice Dec A-B Colours on sale)
$38 US on Beaver
$150 US on Lynx
$ 48 US on Marten
Bobcats ? Tough call, fresher high end cats mat surprise?
Fox - low interest
Mink- can’t get any worse?
Wolves, Wolverine, Weasel and Bear - hot

If people in the cold climates drive electric cars,they will need full length beaver coats to stay warm because they can't run the heaters. Standard issue with each e-car purchase!

With beaver at $30 plus carcass, castor, skull and maybe ADC payments many can average 50-80 fur trapping beaver. So here in northern WI a spring beaver trapper catching 50 beaver say in 2 weeks with 3-4 checks can make more than a coyote trappere catching 3-400 WI coyotes. With almost nothing else in our region worth hardly any price I feel we will see a bid decline in beaver numbers and quickly. From talking with some they saw more beaver trappers this spring then they have seen in 20 years or more. The deep snow and high water probably helped keep harvest down this spring.
