I think it is an AC 60.I used one 14 years ago to do 30 acres of oats .Had to put lots of patches on the draper canvas and made a few sycle sections from some old IH sections . It worked slick ,I was impressed ! Thanks 330 .
Think the Allis was a five foot header, that would explain the AC 60! Wheat harvest always came in right around the forth of July around these parts, and we had a wet spring one of those years when I was about six years old. Dad got the tractor and combine stuck in a wet weather spring out in the field. He walked home and I was the only one there, mom had gone to town. He loaded up the H Farmall tractor with chains, and me, and we went back to where he was stuck. I said, who is gonna drive the big tractor? He looked me in the eye, and said, you are, I haven’t got anyone else to help. My legs weren’t long enough to reach the clutch, but I slipped my butt down to were I was sitting on one cheek. Would have been good for his blood pressure if he had let me practice, but we jumped in with bot feet. First attempt, I didn’t take the slack out of the chain, and broke a link. He was bent over that, but wired it together, and we tried again. Second try, I took the slack out, but popped the clutch too fast, and broke his wiring job. I was learning all kinds of new words by that time, but he wired it again, with more wraps, and the third time was a win! First time I ever drove the tractor, much less the big one, but had rode many miles on them, leaning on the fenders or riding the drawbar. Worked myself right into a job!
