Worst ever, and not just for me.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Local raw unfiltered honey can help if the allergen in question is a source that your local bees work. If it's something they do not then no benefit for allergy desensitization. But still great benefit for all the good stuff honey has in it.

Last year I had a bad reaction to a larger than normal amount of mulberry pollen, produced by some of my male mulberry trees, near my bedroom windows. I used a chainsaw to remedy that problem for this year. I take prescribed Allegra every morning too.

Pollen is a big problem here because most of our region is birch forests which produce a lot of pollen when birch blooms, and some years it blooms simultaneously with the invasive American maple, the sky turns yellow-green and everything is covered with pollen, and it's so bad for some people they cannot leave their homes.

A very allergic friend says a series of birch antigen injections helped. It is a relatively new method where they start injecting very low doses of the allergenic plant extract starting a few months before the pollen season, to get the immune system used to it. It helps with plants for which there is no easy cheap and tasty alternative that warrior mentioned, which is eating local honey throughout the year.

Desloratadine is the antihistamine of choice here for pollen allergies.

Removing or limiting some of the less known allergy-triggering products from your diet, at least temporarily, also seems to help (wheat and oat, tomatoes, chicken, cheap vegetable oil, non-fermented dairy).

Intestinal/liver duct parasites are another big trigger of allergies. If allergies are worse than usual, it's a good idea to take over the counter deworming medication, such as Pyrantel, and preferably get checked for flukes (which shouldn't be treated at home).

And despite all the stigma, wearing a mask actually helps a lot with pollen allergies smile

Tree pollen has been tearing me up this year. I take loratadin 10 mg. ,.but it's not doing the job this year. My eye boogers are the worst ever. Got to wash my eyes out a few times a day and it helps

rag weed bothers me. every year sept and oct till we get a good killing frost, i take claratin and flonase every morning then. when i was a kid it was spring till winter. there wasnt any good symptom relievers. had the same problem as law dog. it all made me sleepy, had to get a prescription, nothing was otc and what there was didnt work very well. Probably one reason I enjoy winter so much. hunting and trapping were allergy free

Get a Kenalog shot. Better than any prescription or over the counter drug. It lasts about 3 months. Ask your doctor about it.
