Not very common in these parts. 16 3/4". Guessing 2 1/2 to 3 lbs.

VERY nice. That size are few .... and far between here.

Fingers in front of a fish in a photograph can make it look much smaller. A 16 3/4 inch crappie should weigh 2#+ all day long around here. Great crappie!

Caught a 16 and 1/2 incher several years ago. Certified scale at a grocery store said 1/10 oz. shy of a pound and a half.

How is 1 lb 10 oz shy of a pound and a half? Around here a 163/4 inch crappie would easily be over 2lbs. That one does look long and lean though but still gotta be over 2 lbs.

Around here, a healthy 15" crappie weighs 2# all day long.

wasn't 1 lb. 10 ounces. was 1/10 of an ounce shy.. so.i guess 1 pound seven and nine-tenths ounces.

Spawned out yes but thick and healthy. Still swimming too. Caught plenty of smaller ones for dinner.

I will try and remember to check length and weight on some we catch weekend after next on Toledo Bend.
We caught some decent ones on Fork week before last but didn't measure or weigh any of them

One of my good friends is a crappie guide and fishes crappie tournaments (Wally Marshall, Crappie Anglers of Texas,etc) and he catches a bunch of good fish. Still waiting on him to put me on a 3#'r
