Every time I head west to visit family back home in Alabama on 20 I see several car rigs towing two other cars. I was under the impression that practice is illegal in Georgia and Alabama. Especially considering the tow vehicle is a car, crossover or small suv and they are all bumper hitched.

I assume they are headed to Mexico as they always look to be salvage vehicles.

What's the story?

BTW, one of these rigs tried to put his tow into my occupied space yesterday right in front of a state trooper. Figured I'd see the blue lights but nope. The trooper must've been asleep at the wheel.

I've seen this happening in Kansas a couple times in the last month. Don't recall EVER seeing this in my life until now.

Even a Mexican doesn't want a rusted out Northern car.

Thats a neat idea. Ya can just string them together like a christmas light chain as long and every one has a hitch. grin Why stop at just two ?? I know some of ya'll going to say No brakes on the tow, but heck, brakes only slow ya down anyways.

Huge numbers of cars stolen in the US end up in Mexico. Some vehicle dealers in Mexico, get almost their entire inventory, stolen from the US. It's been this way for many years.

I was traveling on I20 today and saw several. In fact they were so prevalent my wife asked me about them. I didn’t have an answer. Maybe someone on here knows the scoop.
