Wow…seems like it’s just for fun. Be funny, but not really funny, if grizzlies or moose started doing it to cars in the parks.
Grizzlies have learned about minivans. They have figured out that most minivans smell like food because if it's used with kids there is usually food consumed or stored in a minivan. Also the bears have figured out that minivans are slightly easier to break into by pushing hard on the large flat panels of glass minivans have on the sides. Easier to break than most cars.

We all know Orcas are extremely intelligent . Here they learned to pluck the high calorie black cod off of hooks. After trying many things the fishermen have recently gone to using pots. Now they’ve learned how to tear open the pots on the way up. It’s a cool sight to have a pod all around the boat-for about 2 minutes. They can fingerprint the sound each vessel makes and know which ones to follow. When I crewed on black cod longliners out west they would follow us sometimes hundreds of miles, and when you think they are gone just turn on the hydraulics. They come charging in from afar at top speed. I agree- let’s hope grizzlies don’t learn!!

Actually around here would be good if griz did learn about how easy a meal bunny snuggling, flower sniffing, spandex wearing, granola eating, prius driving liberals would be.

The job of a Patriot is not to protect his country but to protect the people from the tryannical government

I suspect the true reason killer whales are doing this is because they have gotten a taste for African migrants, not some stupid revenge motive, like theorized.

About twelve years ago there was a Steller Sea Lion bull close to here that took to amusing himself by sinking boats on anchor. With a weight averaging 1,199 lb he obviously had no trouble accomplishing this by jumping on the side near the transom. They have been known to mess with divers and even snatch people who were sitting on the rail of boats.

They are gnarly. Their skulls closely resemble a brown bears. The bulls average 1,200’ish but grow to close to 2,500# and 11’ in length.

Disappointing to hear your accounts of whales tearing into the cod pots.

Used to have a lower jawbone with teeth intact that I found on the beach on Kodiak is. Never figured out if it was a bear or a sea lion . Big bull stellar sea lion is crazy big. Re orcas tearing open pots so far it’s only in the western gulf , BS and Aleutians. So far. Hopefully doesn’t work it’s way east.
