This topic may have been covered here before, I don't remember.

When you enter your home, do you take off your shoes at the door?

I leave them on, unless obviously caked with something that won’t come off on the scrubber welcome mat.

in my house , on

sometimes when I visit others off if they prefer it , but I am not staying long and will want to sit soon

I have some foot issues , I get up in the morning and strait out of bed into house shoes and only in those a little while before it is good socks and tie shoes for the day

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have taken my shoes off for some decades. I learned how clean a house is kept in doing this when I lived in Hawaii.

Since then, the tradition of thoughtfulness not only for one’s own housekeeper, but for others houses has grown greatly.

I have house shoes , slippers, or just tool around in soft socks. It is good for feet to bend and be in clean air , for better circulation and pressure points on the soles of feet affect the health of the body.

I work hard to keep my house very clean and it will stay that way.

When my boots are muddy and my wife is home they usually come off. When my wife is not home it’s about 50/50.

If you take your shoes off your gonna get the old sock stink all over the place.

Off. I walk barefoot at home and keep the floors in my home vacuumed and scrubbed with soap. Plus we russkies have wool rugs and walking in muddy boots all over those feels wrong. I still do sometimes, when I'm in a hurry, but it just means more cleaning work for me later.

Off, most times running around the house bare foot. It's getting to the point I hate putting on shoes/boots.

I knew a farmers wife who required changing out of work clothes before entering the house. That's too much.
I like going stocking footed in the summer, but we have bullthorns in this country. Stepping on one of those can dampen the day

I am constantly in and out of the house. Due to weak ankles I don't wear anything but high top shoes (except for dress shoes), so I can't just slip them off and on. If I took my shoes off every time I'd get nothing done. I do try to make sure not to track in a mess. When in someone else's house, I follow their protocol.

My oldest son always liked taking off his shoes when inside when he was young. His favorite excuse for not doing something outside for me was a whiney "I don't have any shoes on." He is well into his 40's now and "I don't have any shoes on" is a family joke. We say it was the first thing he taught his younger brother.
