My guess is it is baled into big square bales Is it used for bedding or feed There are a few horse people in my area that use t as horse feed Do you allow it to grow back and cut again or are you double cropping some other type of plant into the stubble

Barely good for bedding but I'd take it off your hands for a $100 a ton grin

Guys around here cut it one day, put it in big round bales the next day. Bales are then bagged and sealed, so each bale turns into a form of silage. I'm told very good hay and cows eat it well. Same ground then gets planted to soybeans, as rye or wheat is not coming back.

I tried making same into small square bales, and normal dry time to 20% moisture or less for grass hay is 2 days (bale on day 3), this stuff was still green 5 days later and had already been tedded twice by then. Same for green cut oat hay. Square bales are a no go for me.

Went thru a NH haybine. Didn't help.

Let it dry down, run thru a JD big round baler that has knives
that cut it up, add it to the silage in a mixer feed wagon
feed it to beef cow's.

Do you cut it before it heads out? I'm told you'll get 2 crops that way. When I worked for a dairy farmer we'd seed it and silage it.

No we usually swath it right before it heads out, then it gets
sprayed to kill it and then we plant soybeans
