I had to retire the old gal for a newer updated version. I doubt I will see another 39 years of use on the new one. Anyone know what it is?

We had a backyard brawl yesterday morning. I heard some noises and went to look out back where I heard the racket and these two boys were having a moment. It only lasted a short while then they went off to picking and clucking for a while like nothing just happened..

Just another day in my world.

Yes you got it. An old and worn beaver skinning trough. Lots of flat tails have been laid to rest on that old gal. I made this new one from treated wood, hopefully it wears well.

John, a fella can't sleep in past 5 am. without those buggers carrying on gobbling and such. Then they get to flopping around and I have to spend time picking up all the feathers.

Sure makes skinning a beaver easier. Nice work. What is the chain across the bottom for?

same design would make a good saw buck also

add a 3rd set of legs in the middle and move the boards below the hinge point to make a better saw buck

keeps it from spreading too far and laying down flat since it is a folding design.

You got it Greencountypete. The chain gives me some adjustment depending on the size of the beaver and keeps the trough from collapsing. I transport it flat when on the road fits better into the truck bed. I made it low so I can skin off any size bucket while seated.

I thought it was a bucking rack for cutting firewood to length! LOL

It certainly could be used for that if it was beefed up a bit.
