You got drawn 2 years in a row? I think I have applied the last 5-6 years straight and several other years sporadically. I believe the weapon of choice will be a European Stalking rifle in 32-40 and open sights.

I believe back almost 20 yrs ago they used to give out nearly 20 000 permits each year. Area 51 I believe at one point was almost 5000 alone. this yr the whole state sits 4000 ish. they started lowering that number i believe cause it was said hunting pressure was too high and hunter success was lowered because of it. I think more has to do with trying to grow the population and larger bears. percent of license holders Tagging pct I'm sure is higher but number of bears being taken im sure is lower as well.
I think the bears can be equally as hard on the deer population and fawn survival in the spring as to what wolves do. We havent baited in almost 5 yrs and on 80 acres and I bet we avg 5 different bears every summer on the camera just regularly strolling through. almost see as many bears as deer anymore.
almost every zone requires multiple yrs of application now. the points column shows the minimum number of points needed to get drawn and the percent say what percent of the people with minimum amount got a permit.
