You can't get better than Matt. He is KING of the cat rivers . He's a friend of mine. To know the rivers as he does , is to truly be water savvy.

and those J hooks will grab anything they get near. Circle hooks are much safer and work better. We call that Portagee gear, and use plastic tubs. Fast to bait but you can’t move em around much.

Only allowed one trot line with 25 hooks here. So instead of a jump box I do this. Drops have a heavy snap swivel to attach them. I stretch the line between a couple trees, or a double stake on the bank and a tree or a cinder block on the end whatever. Then put the hooks on and weights. Sometimes staggering with floats depending on how I fasten it.
