My father served in WWII. He was in Normandy. Navy. He was a radio operator on the flagship .USS Augusta.

It's about those who died in service, and not for those who served. There is a distinction. Veteran's Day is for those who served.
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May. From 1868 to 1970, it was observed on May 30. Wikipedia Paul, thanks for posting that. Very few know the difference. SJA :-)

Prayers for the families left behind. My dads family has served in all of the US wars since WW1 and returned we are fortunate.
