VA gave me Phonak aids in 2017. They made my ear itch and breakout. After a few months I gave up. Went back last month and tried something new. Seems that the first few days are OK then I go down hill daily.

Not so sure I hear anything new, just old stuff louder. What should I do? Been about two weeks now. Even when I remove my aids, my ears are uncomfortable for hours. Will I get used to them eventually?

Never had that problem but my ears sweat in the summertime and feel like sticking an ice cube into my ears come winter. Like you they just make everything louder. Think been through at least 6 sets now. My newest are too loud on start up to the point it is painful when they play that little tune when they come on line. I only wear them when going to watch the boob tube. These also eat batteries like a fat kid in a candy shop. 5 days tops using them an hour a day.

Did either of you guys have tinnitus? If so did the aids help with that? I go in june to see about my hearing issues so im kind of curious .

Mine are set up so I can adjust it under different conditions. By holding down the botton, I can change to speech, noise, outdoors, and normal. then adjust the volume for whatever I'm doing.

Tip: I had the same problems with my inner ears hurting. Went to a new audiologist and he took a pair of surgical scissors and just split the dome on the ear buds on the flange. Haven't had the problem since, and I wear mine all day. You can do the top one or both.

Got my phonak hearing aids six months ago. They have been life changing for me. I put them in at 5:30 am and take them out at 9:00 pm. Take them out when I mow or use a chain saw but that is about it. I have bad tinnitus and it helps when they are in but going to sleep it is load as ever.

tinnitus has been with me since was in the service the first round. Aids don't help me on that. I am to the point I have speech definition loss 60% left ear and 40% in the right. Oticon is the brand these new ones are. Don't much care for them with all their fancy bells and whistles.

I can adjust mine with my cell phone. Of course, I never take my phone with me.

I put a tiny bit of cortisone cream in each ear this morning and had the best day yet. No itch. My right aid keeps falling out of my ear however,

70 % loss both ears I figured the heck with it I just tell people I can’t hear good and go about my business. I had one pair couldn’t hear birds or anything other than a bunch of noise at least when I hunt my Walkers let me listen to wildlife that’s all I want to hear anyhow

Most likely near deaf. Back in the day never wore them. Told everyone I lived with 3 women.wife and 2 daughters. Did not want to hear it. Wife said I had selective hearing. Could be true but now at 72 I can’t hear squat. I just bought a set of Nano. Charles I will send you a pm and let you know how they are after I try them for a while. Feel your pain.

Stone Deaf in my left ear and only 40 percent in my right. Hearing aids help but never get rid of the constant ringing.

I've had hearing aids for years, they have improved considerably. I have Phonak HA's as well, however, mine are helpful and not uncomfortable. I am totally deaf in my left ear, my left hearing aid transmits sound to my right hearing aid....sort of false stereo.
In my case, if I'm in a large crowd or in a situation where there's a lot of background noise - resulting in a lot of "feedback", many times I'll shut them off and remove them until my surroundings are more quiet.

Since I put a tiny dab of cortisone in my ears two days ago, the aids are more comfortable. Wish I knew why the right one keeps falling out. Maybe the wire is too short.
