When my favorite oil brand tested like crap 45 years ago, I never used it again, but that wasn't a price issue, I am just too cheap to pay that for a quart of oil.

If your machine is still under warranty might want to run their oil. Otherwise I would run what ever good brand oil you like. As long as its same weight and grade.

If it’s under warranty then yes a lot have gone to using some form of markers in their oil and if you don’t use it they won’t warranty the components, otherwise no. I would be interested in reading about oil markers but can't find anything online. Would appreciate it if you could steer me in the right direction as I've never heard of this

I bought mine new and it's a 2000. Warranty has expired but the Muslim fellas still try to sell me extended warranty. Medicare has been real persistent lately too.

Here is a passage from the act, and I’ll post the link also, on how it’s possible for them to void the warranty, they have to prove the oil was at fault but it’s still possible. In addition, it is permissible to disclaim warranty coverage for defects or damage caused by the use of parts or service you didn’t provide. Here is an example of a permissible provision in that circumstance: Necessary maintenance or repairs on your AudioMundo Stereo System can be performed by any company. Damage caused to the AudioMundo Stereo System by you or any non-authorized third party, however, may void this warranty. https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidan...guide-federal-warranty-law#Magnuson-Moss

Turtledale here’s a link to the fuel side of this I was told, mainly John Deere but others as well, we’re doing this so they can trace their own oil, if there’s a contamination or manufacturing issue, also so they know if you’re using their oils in a warranty situation. https://www.dow.com/en-us/brand/accutrace.htmlThank you, very interesting
