The reason I brought up the "Peewee Cobb" story from
Alas Babylon is because probably unknown to most Americans, NATO is planning a very large war game in eastern Europe in a few weeks called "Air Defender 23". It will have over 200 aircraft from over two dozen NATO countries participating and it is being led by the German military (psy ops #1).
The dates that this air war game is going to happen is June 12 through June 23. Does anyone know why one of those days might be a solemn day for the Russians...? Hmmm...??
Ok, here's psy ops #2, June 22 will be the 82nd anniversary of the Nazi Germany invasion of the Soviet Union and the start of the the almost 4 year struggle that cost that nation over 20,000,000 dead military and civilians. Americans may know or care little about the Eastern front of European WWII but everyone in the countries of the former Soviet Union do, and for many its still a central turning point in their national lives. So, 200+ NATO warplanes from 25 different countries practicing along the edge of a hot war that involves missiles of all kinds, many that can travel hundreds of miles between launch and targets, what could go wrong???
Maybe nothing, maybe a lot. Enjoy June.

Try to up your game and come up with some new insults, although they really don't matter as I play with some new shiny, non-metallic metal pieces that came in the mail from mad, bad Vlad's boys. Just earning my pay...
