So little update. Had spent the last week in baton rouge doing all that and left a few days ago.

We also did crew change and I got moved to back shift. The guy I'm with is a great teacher. Lil goofy but good guy, shows me a lot. Honestly most of what we end up doing is just a whole lot of cleaning and house keeping so decided to try and get my health up a lil and use our little gym . Already dropped a pound according to the scale



Aslo got away from the microwave and start trying to eat healthier. Apparently skinless chicken breast,white rice and broccoli is the ticket for weight loss so ..... Idk why eveyone complains about this diet being. Bland mine tases like Chinese food

But yeah really not much to talk about. Just been Riding for the most part. O the relief captain is a really cool guy likes having a little chat with me every day. Told me if I'm on this boat for more then three more hitches and not talking he's gonna be disappointed
O so got groceries last night. Pretty cool how they do. A lil boat similar to the shamrock boats in Baton Rouge just pulled duo tied off and dropped off out order.




Proceeded to cruise down though Memphis. Really prefer this to driving lol

Wish I could take nice pictures of the stars because their amazing. But around 3a.m the pilot called down and asked if we could make up some breakfast burritos so we said YOLO lol. Pack of bacon 18 eggs and a pound of sausage later we got enough for the whole crew lol


And back up on the second deck to catch the sunrise.

Yep next Thursday I think . honestly after seeing what they just took out for taxes I'm considering raiding over a little bit and getting this extra $50 a day but everyone back home is losing it apparently so and depends. The guys that just got off had a shamrock boat come and pick them up and then they switched rentals whent hey got to shore. Company pays for everything though

Yeah, your taxes are taken out , but your expenses are practically zero... I'd stay on the boat and just live off the company. You can face time Mom at your leisure!,

And I have to say these things are PACKED full of gar. Counted probably 300+ was pretty cool how they would come right up to the barge and swim pressed up next to them like dolphins or something. Really need to start looking for a good telescopic rod for next hitch because I really wanna catch some of them !

Gar is easy to catch. Fray a piece of white nylon looks like a minnow to them and gets caught in their teeth. Hard to get a hook through that bony snout they have. They will flat out destroy a crappie jig.

Really enjoy your pictures. Very nice to see the river. You seem to like it too. Good when a person enjoys their work. Get a fishing pole , I bet the guys would like a fish dinner. old 243

Fish Friday was yesterday but we where pretty busy so got moved to today's and steaks tomorrow and yes those are frog legs lol

you might want sauté a couple frogs legs and see what you think. Maybe add a little cajun spice when you are done. Frogs legs are delicate and sauté will keep then moist and add lots of flavor.

You could also pan fry the frog legs in oil. Dredge in flour mixed with cajun seasoning first.

So guess who's been suspended from going outside for the next 24 hr ? Yep this guy. Can't go outside, can't get on the barge heck I can't go out on my little perch in the second deck and just sit there. Yeah ended up over working myself and yaeeeahh...had to call the office who had me on the phone with a doctor who basically told me just to eat and drink more water and stuff like that. And proceeded to get chewed about by the captain, my girlfriend and my friends on the bright side they can never say I don't work

Anyhow did a tow swap and head back down south, hopefully we'll be around Natchez or baton rouge so I don't have to go too far to get home after crew change
