We are a federal republic and have never been a union. The rules of a federal republic are a VOLUNTARY federation of SOVERIEGN entities.

The black republican destroyed that principle by waging war upon some and in turn destroyed it for all.

And before we go there let me point out that in a federal republic you have a sovereign right to absolutely morally wrong. Under a union you do not.

Under a federal republic we have 2A.

Under a union we have the BATF.

It's not about fighting for what they believed in as much as it's about changing history and government control.

As did Hitler's generals, and Emperor Hirohito's, and Mussolini's, and we have not named any of our military bases for any of those generals. Obviously fighting against the US for what a general believed in was not the criteria applied in selecting a US military base name. I don't think any military base should have been named after a confederate general in the first place but I also don't see a lot of point in changing them now. So many have no idea how and why they were named. Unless the point is to recognize someone from a more recent conflict, making a change now just seems to raise hackles to no purpose.

The comparison was only to convey the rule that to the victors go the spoils.

The South lost. The North gets to name the bases. Do I agree with the reasons for the war? Nope.

The British lost the Revolution, we get to name things here.

The French lost the French and Indian War, the British renamed everything.

Its how history works.

The goal of all this diversity crap in the military is to lower or prevent recruitment of the strong, determined men that have always protected our country, since the day we took our freedom from the British. Well you dummy, it was the UNITED STATES ARMY that chose to name those forts years after the war not the long defunct Confederate States. So the victor did get the spoils.

Changing names at this late date isn't as much about "punishing" the south as truthfully much beyond my generation I doubt anyone could tell you just who Benning, Bragg, Bliss, Hood or even Lee was.

It is about erasing history to suit a false narrative, pure BS spun to support a lie.

I think they should leave Military bases alone and start naming the Dumps and Landfills. The ones in NY City and Chicago should be named after Odummy and Hair Sniffer respectfully!!!
