I have a problem with small predators (aka weasels) killing my chickens
I know weasels 'use' holes (like for dens) and I was wondering if anyone had a design that I could put a 2 1/2" or 3" RBG in to a tube to trap the weasel.
I tried something with a 3" cardboard tube, but I can't seem to get the cut out right.

Thanks in advance.

Simple weasle box is all you need, no sence in over thinking it.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

You can use a foothold in one of those boxes

That same box can do double duty for rats and chipmunks if you drop the hole down for easier access.

Modify it to house a 110 for squirrels.

Yep. A #1 or 0 jump or longspring works like a bodygripper on ermine in a box.

Yup, I use #1s in boxes like that. Just be sure that if you are trapping them for their fur when they are prime (white) that your traps are not rusty. Otherwise you will be trying to get rust stains out of white fur.

Also tie those footholds off, I've caught marten than managed to fit through that hole, and if you are trapping around places where there are coons or housecats they will stick their paw through the hole and can get caught. I once pulled some boxes and brought them home with bait and traps still set in the boxes. It was late when I got home and I left them in the back of the truck. The next morning I had a housecat dragging a box around the yard. Oops!

I kept a few traps with duct tape covering the jaws for the rust on fur issue mentioned by bearcat2. Worked well, for me.

Play around with the RBG & tube. I bet you can get in figured out.
