Actually how I stared lol , cane poles from the feed store . I wanna get into building some nice once but I end up getting frustrated because they always look like crap . Want to find a species of bamboo that's like river can and grows almost completely round instead of with flats and grow that for poles

The last time I touched a cane pole was over 50 years ago when fishing bullheads. Can’t remember seeing one in many years.

It looks pretty complicated. Like samurai sword making. Probably took years as apprentice to become that good.

Just lastnight my grandsons caught a mess of 12 to 15 inch catfish and bullheads off our dock. They used telescopic fibreglass versions of the cane pole. Very handy for plucking panfish out of Lilly pads and brooktrout out of small creeks. I'm up early cleaning fish, think were having some for breakfast.
