I set up this camera to see if I have any otters coming by throughout the year without expecting to see much but I had this Blanding’s turtle show up this week. Still no sign of otter though. Just makes me wonder what other rare sightings trapperman has seen. [Linked Image]

I have seen a Delmarva Fox Squirrel before they are endangered I believe. Only ever saw one and was surprised at how big it was

I may or may not have had a close encounter with one.
While driving an International, lol. It was its LUCKY day.

One squirrel, 10 wheels, and it somehow missed them all.

Have saw trumpeter swans come through which are rare around here. A Sika bull/buck on our farm ( got shot and know one knows where it came from). Pileated woodpecker (rare around here). And also around here bird hunters are rare.

I’ve seen snowy owls here in the past, but it’s been a couple of years.

That's my favorite turtle. I hatched one from an egg many moons ago. I didn't know that you had them in Nebraska. Mine came from Michigan.
The bright yellow on the underside of the neck is quite striking when the early morning sun hits it.

I keep hearing about spotted skunks looking to be put on the list. It’s the mentality of if you don’t see them they are not there. I marked on a map for someone doing GFP research and it had a ton of Xs marking locations I know where they are at. Most people catch them and lose then if you’re not wired to hold them they can cross a cat trap and not set it off.

They don’t like to leave thick cover so they are seldom seen but they are around.

Seen a Blackfoot ferret in Wyoming and a snow leopard in northwest China, it was treed by the village dogs, and had a tiger walk across the road in front of me in Thailand, my kids were awestruck, it was only after it had disappeared into the bush on the other side of the road that they began to worry about it, I started at first sight
