I知 thinking about buying a gas powered backpack fogger for mosquitos. Anyone have experience with owning one? Are they worth the money?

I have a buddy that has one. He has the lager one stihl makes. Other than being very heavy when full he loves it. Uses his to spray corn and pumpkins. I知 getting one myself the next time I go to the dealer. I知 going to get the smaller version to spray garden for pests and mosquitoes.

I own one and wouldn't be without it. There's 3 versions of the stihl mist blower. Always run a tank of water through when you're done to clean it out.

230 small home owner, gravity feed. This will work for most people and it's what I use.
430 big tank, has a pump. It is capable of spraying up into trees.
450 big tank, gravity feed, no pump will spray dry chemicals too. It has a chain that you drag for static protection

Ever thought of spraying instead of fogging? Ive always sprayed them instead of fogging. Once in the spring and once more 3 to 4 weeks later and wont see a mosquito again until next spring. Seems like its a time saver vs the neighbor fogging everytime he has a bonfire or gathering. Maybe there are benefits to fogging that im not aware of..?

From what I understand, you get about 3 weeks of coverage per fogging application. Is that about right?

Anyone fogging that finds it actually works more then a couple hours?

The county here used to have fogging trucks that went through the neighborhoods, us kids would ride our bikes through the fog. This was in the 60's so God only knows what was in that stuff but we're still alive, mostly, lol
but the point is, within a very short period of time the mosquitos where back. Same now, companies will come and spray or fog your home but mosquitos are back as they're leaving.

Maybe we have tougher mosquitos, but I never saw that the treatment worked for long....

you have to stay on top of them. Spray every 30 days and you will be good. I have almost no bugs in my yard, but if i leave my yard it's terrible, I use Demonmax it has worked great for me for about 5 years now.

I ended up buying the Stihl SR200. I found Insectrin X with 10% permethrin concentrate in the cattle section at Fleet Farm for $32 a quart. I知 going to add a surfactant when I mix it up.

no
mosquitoes can fly up to 10 miles a night in dispersal
the pyrethroids only last 12 hours under UV light that you are using
10% is quite diluted should have gone with 35% already with a surfactant
