Had a little skin cancer removed today. It was done with local anesthesia. The Dr. was cutting away (on the top of my shoulder) and was apologizing for the sound as she cut through the tissue. I said, it sounds just like clean skinning a beaver. Oddly enough, she had never heard that from a patient, but she cracked up, nevertheless. I was glad she laughed, considering she was maybe 30 years old. I have pics of the procedure if y'all want to see why you should wear a shirt in the hot sun.

I gotta say, she wasn't ugly. On the other hand, she's about the same age as my daughter. smile

I had the same thing about a month ago except the top of my head, I was literally scalped! My Doctor had a sense of humor, he told me I got a free facelift. I look 6 months younger! lol

Left about 1/4 of my nose in a Dr. Office during a Mose procedure. Also basal. That was about 15 years ago and no other skin problems. Wife had same procedure on same side. Caught much sooner.

Anesthesia hasn't worn off yet so I am supplementing with beer and a stick to bite, just in case.

I mentioned it at every annual physical for 5 years. Every one said eczema. It was the size of my thumbnail for 3 years.

Doc cut a football shape outta me. i told him that was how i cut a bad spot out of a pelt. sewed it up like in your picture. i just use a baseball stitch. I believe it would leave a bigger scar but didnt look to hard to do

It sounds and feels weird when they're cutting a chunk out of your ear too. Third times a charm I hope.

She did a bunch of extra cutting to make an oblong hole to stitch up to make the skin come together better. I told her I do the same when stitching up a coyote skin. LOL

I am taking the chemo cream for a basal carcinoma right now for about 3 or 4 more weeks. The basal is on my forearm and has a hole in it about as big around as a first graders pencil and almost a fourth of an inch deep. The entire basal was about the size of half dollar. That chemo cream makes me feel like homemade death. I can hardly go. I'll use the cream for 5 weeks and then they'll do the Mohs procedure.

Odd, I had a biopsy at regular Dr., one visit to dermatologist and then the Mohs procedure. By the time I had biopsy, the area on my shoulder was about the size of a small egg. They did seem concerned at the size and growth rate. Hope your treatment is effective!
