If that doesn’t meet the standards of stupidity I don’t know what does.

Already happened in the Netherlands and has been talked about for the US as well . It's disheartening to see what is happening locally and abroad . Liberalism is a mental disorder

Did you miss the thread where New York is going vegan. No future in beef or oil these days. I wish all these libs would stop eating and using fossil fuels, the world would be a better place!

You guys don't get it. This is not a decision, that the Irish government are making. When we sold our souls to Europe back in the 70's, we gave away the freedom we faught so hard for. When Germany tell the Irish government to jump, they say how high. Germany know this, because being a small Island, we would be doomed if we left the EU now.The people don't want any of this madness, and we won't lie down without a fight.

JMO as an interested outsider. Ireland should swallow their pride and bury the hatchet with the prods and English and form some sort of economic union to counter the EU. Not a United Kingdom mind you to much history and bad blood for that to ever occur but an understanding of shared history and economies. And I'd say the same to those idiots in the SNP in my ancestral Scotland.

Just seems to me the British Isles plus the Canadian maritime provinces pretty much have a lock on the north Atlantic. Use it to starve Germany once again.

I have had conversations on this very thing, with friends and family, and I for one, would go for it.
But if it went to the ballet box, the people would be devided on the idea, for several reasons. Mostly, nothing to do with history, but more so of fear. The UK have gone through a tough time since Brexit. The EU have made things as difficult as possible for them to break free, and transition back to controlling their own Country. The Irish government wouldn't even dream of leaving the EU. Like all governments, they are crocked, and lining their own pockets, is their main focus. Leaving the EU, means they would actually have to put in the work, to make this Country prosper, when it's easier to just borrow off the EU, and then when crap like this, and turf cutting pops up, they can just say, "the EU says we must do this" and therefore take the heat off them.
