Hey guys wonder if someone can help me out. Have a bunch of J C Connor swivels to install on some of my NoBs traps. What type of welding do I need to tack them shut and also some j-hooks. Is that a MiG welder or what. Don’t know much about welding. Not sure what kind of welder does that.

You could use either a MIG or stick welder. MIG is easiest learning curve to get the hang of. If you go with a stick welder, get an AC/DC model. DC is easiest to strike an arc and run a bead. 7018 rods are a good all purpose rod.

It can be done with either a stick welder, MIG or TIG or even oxy acytelyne torch. This is all dependent on YOUR skill level.

You can get a little 110 volt mig welder...and plug it in, right next to your toaster. Plenty of you tube mig welding videos to watch

And it WILL take skill, that only comes from practice.

Keep your material clean and rust free or you will have problems especially with the lower voltage welders.

My advice is a mig welder. Buy a name brand so parts are available. Buy the biggest/best one you can afford. Because you'll find once you have one you'll find a lot more for it than you ever imagined. (your friends and family will find stuff for you to weld too.) Hobart is a good brand that won't break the bank.
