I don't live in crime invested areas. Aslong as not involved in something an don't live in big towns . Not lot chance need handgun. Always slight chance. Of something. Of be a victim or rare occurrence like last summer. Some crazy but goes into campground not far from here an shoot kill a family an then drive out in field an commit suicide. Le seem pretty gung ho about carry weapons on u around here or in auto. I not even sure what laws on handgun carry are. I think u can have loaded guns uncase just lay around. I won't have nerve. To scared get stolen or something or hassale by le. They get gun happy pretty quick. Not bad idea though to have gun in auto loaded . To many other things need money for for me anyhow. Pretty low on priority list things to buy an guns prices sky high

I felt the same dave although i have a child to protect. I rarely carry one but like one under car seat at times. I just decided i would spend some money and also bought a . 270. Besides banking monthly fir sons education and making car payment i rarely buy for me. We did have a young gal murdered in dollar tree a few months ago by an illegal with a machete soooo, even in a quiet farm town at times freak things happen.

I will bet there lots right around here that carry conceal . Don't know about . I guess I never like the hothead attitude of some guys that do. On rare occasion I have seen open carry. Like at convenience store or even Walmart. I be scared to even dream do that. I rember at nta convention in Bloomington I'll. 2 guys dress cowboy outfits with dbl revolvers on holsters have Mock gun fight with booze bottle in hand. Like a draw . Stand there for while. Someone must call le. All sudden a trooper was on other side fence park along interstate. He yell at them an they say hey this not for real or something that effect. Trooper was like say ya it cool but if u could stop it an say something effect of we're not gonna bust u. He lied. A lil later there swarm sheriff deputy. Hiway patrol an probly local le an seen them leave handcuffs

Ive been out of bolo"s since covid started as the philippines was terribly shut down. Wish I had kept one for me to chop burdock stalks. I had 8 in philippines but sons mom probably sold them.

A handmade machete Scott. Handmade in Philippines and very heavy duty. Most are made from railroad rails or leaf springs from trucks. The Philippinos are very ingenius at using what they can find. Ive seen them chop down coconut trees with them.

I personally like something with longer barrel. I don't know lot but think short barrels are only good for very close. Also if actually used it in action. If did as be very upsetting. I can't think words describe the situation but have heard most ppl in situation where actually use it. Don't do well . More apt to have accident with such short barrel

Dave you can Carry a rifle and have accuracy and power. Handguns are weak and most can't shoot them as well as rifles. But a rifle won't fit in your pocket and is a pain to pack around. A small Handgun is always on your person all the time. In the of chance you need one the one in yout truck won't do you any good if you're not in the truck. Always in your person is the only way to be sure you have it if it's needed. If I ever thought I would need a gun for defense situation I would not go into that place. The point is you never know when or where a nut job will loose it.

Big guns tend to get left in a vehicle or at home due to them being inconvenient. That's why small guns are popular.

To me Dave, i just dont feel comfortable carrying one unless running traps, then its a . 22. Just not who i want to be. That being said, i have taught my son proper firearm safety and handling and feel even if he never intends to use one its mandatory he knows how.

9, 40 , 45 at the end of the day are all calibrated to go 12-14 inches in ballistic gel

so more recoil and more diameter get you the same depth and similar holes

how similar , similar enough that a bad shot with a 9 .355" shot in the exact same place with the 45 .452" wouldn't really make it a good shot with the 45

the difference is you can carry 8-10 rounds in your pocket with a 9mm micro compact and that would be a hard thing to pull off with a 45
the gun you have with you is a lot better than the one you left at home if you happen to need it

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
