not having anger or aggression issues I don't worry about issues carrying , it is no more dangerous in my pocket than at home but much easier to get to should I need it.
been carrying a micro compact 9mm for 12 years as long as WI has has issued CCL . practice with it your not trying to shoot 20 yards with a sub compact it is more likely than not a short range just beyond arms reach gun that said I typically practice at 5-10 yards I have shot 20-25 yards just takes a bit more work than closer.
I have shot raccoons , squirrel with it also
do add a white light to what you carry if you can solve the problem with a bright flashlight all the better but at least you will be able to ID your target well.
a good goal would be to run a 6 round EL-Prez meaning no reload in 5-6 seconds with targets at 5 yards
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

coonman220 , IA has constitutional carry now , any non-prohibited person can carry as I understand it there is no license needed.

To me Dave, i just dont feel comfortable carrying one unless running traps, then its a . 22. Just not who i want to be. That being said, i have taught my son proper firearm safety and handling and feel even if he never intends to use one its mandatory he knows how.
he says as he takes a picture of his finger on the trigger and gun aimed at his right leg. I am only giving you a hard time so you realize you were doing it , most people don't realize they are doing it. you may not even have a box of 9mm in the house yet however , I thought it was unloaded is what nearly everyone who shoots themselves says. "It's unloaded" can't be the excuse for poor handling

"It's unloaded" can't be the excuse for poor handling I knew I exactly where it was pointed 100% and Thank you so much for your concern. .Yes I fully understand ALWAYS treat a gun like its loaded. I taught that in safety classes for 20 yrs too....I had just reassembled it.and its actually not pointed at my leg....Its above it. IF you look youll see its ABOVE my left leg and way ABOVE my right as my left is even Higher than my right. Figured somebody on here would try that one. Gosh forbid I would shoot the arm of my chair. The pic was intended to show the size of the weapon not the angle of trajectory AND if you look EVEN closer you will SEE my finger isnt touching the trigger. See the shadow underneath the trigger? Most Observed... Figured if I racked the slide open it wouldnt give a true size of the weapon.

good that you weren't actually flagging your leg and were a couple inches above it
flagging your lower 1/3 is actually allowed in a match so long as you have the finger out of the trigger guard , not much of a way to holster or draw without flagging your lower body
as for the finger in the trigger guard , it may not have been touching the trigger and you can do as you like , pictures can be deceiving but it looks like your inside enough to count. that is a match dis qualification if your finger is in the trigger guard while you flag your leg , while reloading , while clearing a malfunction or while not engaging a target and moving. because if you trip your had closes and you do touch the trigger
your hand is probably just resting there while you take the picture as you don't have a firing grip
I know your military and probably have lots of time and training , I have also seen cops and military that should have known better have bad habits.

Great advice. Concealed carry is planning not to get in a fight but prepared in case the worst shows up. A fixed blade knife on your other strong side is faster than drawing a gun at close range. If someone grabs your gun a knife will quickly get him to let it go. We’ve got a couple LCP’s the wife and I carry. A concealed carry is meant to be concealed and nothing more than to make sure I get myself or my family to safety. I don’t carry to go to battle. Most scenarios are going to be close if it’s needed and those little guns fit the bill for us. A blade is always carried as well. Now if we’re in my truck and I get back to it, then we can go to war, lol. Main focus when I’m with my family is getting them to safety. Granted I’m not going to let innocents be slaughtered, but my family comes first. Hero time comes when they are out of harms way.

Sweet! I haven't shot the g3 yet but if it's anything like the g2 you'll enjoy it. They are tough reliable accurate little boogers. A few great buddies of mine decided to torture test one before selling them in the gun store. 1000 with no cleaning, water bath, mud bath, sand bath, ran over, thrown around, then pancake bath. Not 1 issue until the 4th round after the syrup bath which was failto fire. Even then a quick rinse (shake) in a bucket of water and it fired. One of my buddies still has it keeps it in his truck and the g2 still has the original barrel installed
