Well, the demo line up for Coyote Days 2023 just got a very welcome addition!
Jim Ball, from Arizona has agreed to come this year, and do a bobcat cage trapping demo.
Jim routinely catches 100+ ‘cats every fur season, and has several videos on YouTube, under his ‘Trapping Spots’ channel
Check them out, and you’ll see some great locations, and plenty of catches
Having a solid ‘cat caging demo of this caliber will round out our lineup of coyote and ‘cat demos, that will cover everything from A-Z in predators and ‘cats
It’s coming up fast, August 18-19, Lusk, WY
Thanks, John

Just to give a quick update, Otis Latham is planning on getting some of his high quality basswood stretchers to Coyote Days, and hopefully they came make it themselves! Otis makes what has become the industry standard for Nevada Style stretch ‘cat stretchers, as well as some great Coyote stretchers, as well as others
If anyone is interested, they might contact Otis well in advance, and get some ordered
And, Mercer Lawing says he’ll have some of his Camtrip cage traps brought to Coyote Days too, so if you can arrange things with him before hand, a LOT shipping can be saved!
Tuffy Halls, with Grizzly Rose Trapline supply out of Hot Springs is coming too, and Tuff will have a good variety of products as well
It’s been raining all June, and Wyoming is as green as you’ll ever see it.
The fawns are doing well, and lots and lots of twin fawn antelope are everywhere, a product of good conditions and predator control, despite the long harsh winter we endured,
If you are interested in Coyotes and ‘Cats, the place to be is Coyote Days, August 18-19. 2023, in Lusk Wyoming

Sounds good TC1
We’re getting calls every day, lots of new attendees coming, and we’ll do everything we possibly can to make this enjoyable and informative
A few questions we’ve have lately are:
Is there camping on the fairgrounds? YES! Lots and lots of tent camping, and spots to pull in a camper Price Is minimal, like $5/night, unless you need one of the 11 electric hook ups, and that’s $10/night
There are bathrooms and showers there too, and the camping is literally 100 yards from lots of the event
The other question asked is if this is open to the public, and is there a charge? YES! It’s open to the public, and there is a $10 charge for anyone over 17
We charge this to help pay for all the costs involved to put this event on
Trust me, you will get your moneys worth, 50x over
It’s less than 2 months away now, and things are happening!
Coyote Days, 2023. August 18-19. Lusk, WY
Thanks, John

I had guy’s ask about Coyote days yesterday at the FTA convention because I had a shirt on from 2021. Told them well worth the trip. I will make it again sometime time soon.
It is more blessed to give than to receive

Thanks guys, and Kevin, it will be good to see you again.
I haven’t had a lot of time to get much done for updates, but I did clear out some PM’s and will respond to the gentleman that referred to the scholarship program
It’s denning time in the coyote world, and I’m keeping crazy weird hours
I’ll sit down at my computer tonight and type out some things, rather than on my phone (just me, hate the small keys)
Things are coming along nicely, and we’re getting calls and inquiries daily, and some are from states that I don’t believe have been represented before, so we expect a very good turnout again
Wyoming, the Panhandle of Nebraska, and Western South Dakota have been getting a lot of rain, snd we look as good as I’ve ever seen it in Wyoming.
There would be no better time to plan a vacation or mini trip through this part of the world, and take in so much of the history and beauty of the prairie and Black Hills

Looking forward to another "coyote days". My hat is off to John, Nicole, their children and all the volunteer's for putting on a top notch event. I've been to a lot of pretty good conventions but this one is hard to beat. The facilities are excellent and Saturday nights steak feed and fur fashion show cannot be topped. Thank you to everyone who helps.

Hey, we’re looking forward to seeing you too, Larry!
I haven’t worked out the actual schedule of demo times yet, but I’d like you to do your ‘cat demo at 5 pm on Friday evening, so people can take all the time they need to ask question’s afterwards
Then, we’ll have about an hour and a half before we’ll start the round table Q&A
My girls used the new open air pavilion on the fairgrounds yesterday, and it worked great, so we will probably hold the roundtable in it this year, for some shade and lightning, and the acoustics are great
I ordered the belt buckles and other items last week, and getting other things gathered up
There’ll be a lot of nice stuff on the fur fashion show, and we’ll have some good speakers at the banquet too
My buddy Mike Wilhite, owner/editor of Trappers Post will be here for the event again, and will have a booth too. Mike is the real deal, and I feel fortunate that he’s making the trip to Wyoming again!
All in all, it’s shaping up well, and we’re getting a LOT of inquiries from ‘new’ attendees
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again…
On August 18-19, all tracks lead to Lusk, WY
Thanks, John

Seeing Webb again would be great Larry, and I hope he can make it
We’ll be in your area a few times too, with the wedding in Hill City coming up fast also, I’d take you all out for supper some time
A quick update on Coyote Days, a buddy of mine that is a dealer for Alexpro Suppressors will be coming this year, and for any of you that are looking for info on one, or want to start the process to get a suppressor, that would be a good chance
I personally have Bannish 30 suppressors, but will give one of these a try too, as I see they are titanium alloy and light too
Suppressors are one thing that I can not say enough good about, and recommend them highly
I know they help get multiple coyotes in a lot of situations, and they are just pleasant to use.
This would be an opportunity to visit about their benefits
We are getting a LOT of calls from ‘new’ attendees, and I know the turnout is going to be great, and we’ll do everything we can to make it a fun and enjoyable weekend
Thanks. John

Well as it stands right now, there is a very good chance that I will be making the pilgrimage again this year. It's a long drive but well worth it!
