Stayed at the KOA in Gothenberg, NE once. 3.5 hours from Cheyenne. That's as good as I've got.

Oliver state recreational area. We camped there when we went to Cheyenne. Free camping nice little lake. Hour east of Cheyenne right off interstate by Kimball NE. Some of the locals came out on the weekend to camp and party but we didn't have any problems.
My bad didn't read carefully. Thought u were going to Cheyenne.

Big springs Nebraska right off of 80 camp right near the Platte River. Toss a rod and catch dinner.
