I have this dog, just over 2 years old now.
[Linked Image]

Little thing, about 10lbs.

This weekend she started throwing up once a day. Not much comes up and it's just clear flem looking stuff. Kinda like a dog that had eaten some grass and threw up but there's no grass in this. Eats and drinks, might be a touch lazier than before but not noticeable.

Any ideas?? Its been hot here but not today and she just did again.

In dogs, one of the most common symptoms of having worms is vomiting. Have you wormed her recently?

I'll have to ask my wife, she gives the pills.

Keith,

She doesn't get a worm pill. Wife said she's due at the vet in a couple weeks and thinks its for her shots/pills. You might have nailed it.

Thanks.

I think I'm gonna call them and see if we can get in earlier than her regular scheduled yearly appt.

Thanks.

local farm store can get a tube of zimectrin and panacur paste wormers for horses. rotate wormers every other month and apply by weight of dog - not much in your case - will be good for heart worm prevention as well - under $20

no way I'd ever take my 11 hounds to a vet - way too expensive. Injectable ivermectin as well can be used orally for dogs - had a vet tell me this personally - I am not recommending the dosage rates but its out there - a small bottle likely would last you a lifetime with your dog

Hippie, if you want to save some money, you can easily buy livestock wormers and worm her yourself.

A 3 day treatment of Safe-Guard Dewormer Suspension for Beef & Dairy Cattle & Goats, will kill all worms except heartworm. The correct dosage for dogs is 1cc or ml, per 5 pounds of body weight given orally.

To prevent heartworms, give 1/10th of a cc or ml of 1%, injectable Ivomectrin, orally, once a month. If you think she has heartworms, have her tested by a veterinarian first.

Don't forget there are some breed of dogs the Ivomec is bad for them. Seems like was collie and heelers but not 100% sure

The dog food. Some of the stuff sold is no good and changes.
