When we use to go stay at Big Eddy and fish char whenever Edward was a baby. Before Sam was born . Muggy nd Ricky would show up with one three wheelers and about 5 people. They took off up the portage to hunt sheep. Come back the next day with sheep. Open camp up there must be. They sure must of had fun. That little trike must have worked really hard.

My father in law passed in 2021. I can relate to Ryan’s experience with a man who knows his way around the outdoors, loves his family to no end, and would help anyone without being asked.

God speed Mervin and Nicholas.

Sorry for your loss, Ryan.

From your words, I would say that you have many great memories to look back on - memories that you continue to build as you in turn pass on the many teachings that you have learned.

JAX was supposed to grow up to be a big dog. He got sick about a week ago and was going downhill fast despite our best efforts to save him. I was up all night with him last night keeping him hydrated with a syringe of water and honey but the damage was already done. I ended his suffering this morning at 530 and buried him on a nice hill overlooking a lake. I really liked this young giant and it sure sucks to not have a dog anymore. I Sure don’t feel like doing much today

It's heart wrenching to loose some one your close to a elder or close friend but it's amazing how quick a dog can work it's way into our good social graces and our heart's .

I still miss feeling a ice cold nose nudge my hand because he wanted some attention ha ha

The journal looked a little short of rat pictures. Might have a few more on my other phone too. Last 28 are on the racks and there’s a cool east wind blowing through the warehouse. Pretty quiet besides the occasional creak of my old plywood door and the knock of my even older wooden muskrat stretchers against each other. Stretchers that have stretched thousands more rats Than I’ve even seen in my lifetime. Inherited stretchers from 4 different old timers. I still have a bunch of other fur to keep me busy. I think I’ll thaw my last wolf for something to keep busy this evening besides cleaning up of course. Clean up spring gear and even some messy looking winter stuff that’s still laying around. Once I’m done that I can start getting stuff ready to start it all over in august. Bobby made a few bucks recently and i had a good talk with him about wise investments. By the time we were done our conversation he was prepared to spend it all on 6 traps but then he added, on his own, that snares would be cheaper and that would be a better investment because he could buy more, then carry and set them easier and quicker. My boy is a wise young man. I think I’ll get my kids a few traps each this summer. The town foxes need some thinning out and I don’t mind it if they’re the ones setting up my old spots one bit. Time to get busy now so have yourself a good evening and I’ll post a few more pictures if I find them. Got to start taking lots of pictures again.

Nice to get but I told them it’s going right in with the other rat stretchers. Haha. Nahh I might keep this one clean.
