Curious if anyone is familiar with his art work. Long story short - I was cleaning up some things I had stuffed away on some shelves. Happened to come across a cardboard tube that contained a few signed prints from Ron. The prints are of trap and furbearer, nicely done. My favorite is the Newhouse 2 1/2 otter. The prints are dated 1987 and I see Ron passed in 2017.

For the life of me I can’t remember how I came about these. The tube was addressed to me from Ron and postmarked in 1997. I had a lot of irons in the fire back then and juggling a few chainsaws in my spare time but can’t remember details of getting these.

I framed them up as they are really nice. Gave one to my brother and have 3. I’d like to share a picture of them but can’t quite get it figured out.

If anyone knows a bit about his work I’d be interested. From his obituary I found on line he was a member of the trap collectors.

Thanks

Ron was a long time friend of mine, saw him most every year at the Western NATCA trap collector meets. I have the same three prints that I bought from Ron in person back in the 1980s. I also have several other pieces of art work that Ron did. Ron also did the illustrations in several books.

Here are a couple of Ron's prints

Can tell from his work he understood the subject. Beside the Newhouse 2 1/2 otter I have the Triumph triple clutch 2XK and 215X. The W A Gibbs two trigger muskrat trap is the third one. Excellent details.

Pretty sure his artwork was on the back cover of some
NATCA "TRAPS" magazines.
