Looking for a prairie dog hunt in 2024 for 2 people.

Tons on the Lower Brule Reservation in central SD, the Federal Badlands/Grasslands have bounced back also further West in the Kadoka area. Local guy offers shooting on a smaller scale last time he had tables set up. You find one of these places to you liking PM I’ll give you the finer details and dos and don’t.

WS on the bottom of his prairie dog info page it says all hunts include meals and accomodations.

Law Dog, it appears the Brule reservation has walk-in areas that are just for tribal members? Or is it open to non members?

Looks like with the private owners that I assume are tribal memebers you have to gain permission? It listed some owners and phone numbers.

They sell non-tribal licenses they always have that I know of. I’d call up there and talk with the wildlife Dept they might set you up with a “guide” maybe the number is (605) 473-5666. I’ll send you a PM with my number call me if you want I’ll bring you up to speed on the Rez ways.

If a guy wants to go on the cheap it can be done. lm cheap so I look for a quality hunt on the cheap. I’ve been on the everything included hunts but its not my preference to do it that way. Knowing the game is half of the hunt and my choices are my own then.

Lower Brule has a casino/motel with good food several levels of licenses available tribal, gov worker employee, non tribal member. Hooking up with a local would get you into a lot of places I’m sure the game Dept staff know “a guy”. Don’t party with the locals that never ends well most of the time you can get a room off the reservation that may be a better choice.

Find out if you can hunt along the Missouri River there are several miles of dogs along the East road leaving Lower Brule to the South with a great view of the river.
