If you were in the East I would say Coyote U with Mark Zagger. Although he can slay them East or West or in the middle. It don't much matter.
He cannot teach you work ethic either but he can show you how to run a long line and how to keep operating in the crap conditions we usually face here in the East.
Might be a good vacation trip for you. There is a lot of nice country in NY.

A lot of people just want to get ‘over the hump’ and learn how to confidently pick locations and make sets or hang snares in the right places, to use their time effectively.

For every guy that wants to catch 100 coyotes and/or 500 ‘coon, there’s no doubt 100 guys that catch 5 coyotes and 25 coon

Not everyone wants to be a long liner or go ask permission on numerous properties

Some are content to trap their own farm or hunt club, and maybe a neighbor or two, to help out their game populations and maybe make a few bucks in the process

Beav asked a legitimate question: IF the original poster was intending to do ADC type work?

In the case of coyotes, that can involve trapping, snaring, denning, calling, M-44’s, locating, etc

Taking some instructions or at least going with someone that is willing ti share some knowledge could take years off the learning curve

Success can inspire higher goals and more expectations

It’s no different that anything else, be it selling real estate, planting a garden, or catching some fish

You have to start somewhere

And, I have to agree with Mike Mason, thanks Mike

I’ve been trapping for years and I know it involves lots of work. I don’t post on forums much just observe. I’m kind of wanting to do this instruction out of state as a way to see different country and get in a vacation and information along with it. Yes I’m planning on getting my nuisance license in iowa. I follow a bunch of professionals on YouTube and have several different dvds from many different trappers. I’m constantly trying to learn and enjoy watching different ways to do things. I’m a full time police officer so I’m limited on my vacation time so I’m trying to maximize it. I have many different names already for trapping instruction just trying to see if you guys knew of any I wasn’t thinking about.

If I were thinking about going Into ADC work (small critters) I would look for a full time ADC person. Some of the FUR trappers mentioned may not fit that ADC job description. You might try and contact WCS @ 860-844-0101 they may be able to point you to some one that gives ADC Instruction.

LKL school in Kansas is an excellent school. Kendall from NO BS Lures, Lesel Reuswatt and Leon from Top Lot Stretcher put on the instruction.Top notch accomodations and excellent food. Class sizes are limited to give more personal instructions. Kendall and Lesel are coyote harvesting machines. Each catch hundreds in several different states.

If I was going into ADC work learning to trap coyotes would be my last consideration. How many coyote trapping jobs come up on a weekly basis?

Beav makes a good point and realistic. Get good at both fields and do it all. Then you will have some job security over time. Gradually develop your skills with all the species that bring you revenue and the sky is the limit for your lifetime. It takes time to get good at so many things but once you learn you will be rewarded. I grew slow but sure in my skills. Once you learn most of it your time is running out so to speak. I can't complain. Its been a great ride. Good skills in Moles, small animal work and Rodents can sure help pay the bills while you are working on your coyote skills.
