A species change but one of the sloughs I trap is about 5 miles from me and each year there are a few more egrets nesting on the stumps and down timber. I counted 8- or 9 birds today when I drove by.

They seem to nest in big colonies here in MN.

Same as cormorants.

It’s my understanding catfish farmers love those big ole birds and comorants.
