You probably already spelled it out but I wasn't sure...thanks

No,the clients are local road boards, Municipalities Hydro electric power companys, logging companys,Mining companys,Snowmobile clubs,Also MNR when they want to maintain roads that they have taken back from logging companys,or any others that have a nuisance beaver problem.
The system works good because all these people dont have to try to track down each trapper,The co ordinator does that from their maps and list of trappers. The clients only have to call the co ordinator and the co ordinator opens a contract and dispatches the trapper.
There are just under 200 trappers in our council area and it is divided between 3 co ordinators.

Nice photos, interesting information.
Around here, a place like that this time of the year is mosquito heaven.

It's not always about catching fish. That's what people who don't catch fish usually say.

Normally on a rainy summer evening in the swamp that would be the case. You would have to make a smudge to hang out in a place like that.
Amazing what all the forest fire smoke accomplishes-Not a single bug to be seen.
The cool weather and the heavy smoke has them smudged out.

I could get a permit to posess them but beyond the scope of the nuisance contract, which expires in 15 days,it is not legal to posess a pelt out of season without a permit.
I dont bother this time of year.Pelts are pretty poor.

Correct,I trapped that spot this spring and figured there was one left.
Wasnt sure until it started coming down from the upper pond to plug the culvert.
It holed up in the upper pond last spring cause it was the brood female with young.(didnt know that at the time).
Anyway,I left the traps for a second check there could be another young one or two,but they likely wont survive anyway.
I will open the culvert to natural flow next trip up and pull the traps.
There is about 15 miles of beaver ponds on that drainage so it wont surprize me if I get another call there in September.
Too bad the trapper dont trap that line much. That would be a beauty creek to ride up in winter and do a run on the beaver up there.

Don’t they need some sort of under wool coat to make felt? I’ve never got a summer beaver to see

Yea there is no underfur for felt.
Shoving those skins into the pipeline will cause the buyers to lower their price in the future on the good pelts to make up for losses from buying stuff they cant use.
