Oh gotta love wood frame shoes! Im all about the tradition gear, may I ask what kind of wood did you use, yellow birch, at least the pair on the right

they are ash frames with flat nylon lacing. The two on the left are dyed red which is traditional with the Gwich'in, they still need to be varnished though. The ones on the far right are natural wood and have been varnished. I like to customize them for folks so it has some meaning to them and makes it a one of a kind. Thanks for the kind words ;0)

Those are very nice looking snowshoes. I really like the dyed frames, make them stand out from most other snowshoes.

The Ojibwe here would often put yarn tassel decorations on the outer edges of the shoes.

Nice snowshoes.
The yarn tassells (traditionally moosehair tufts) is to dampen the sounds of the shoes creeking when doing a semicircle hunt for moose in winter-not decorations originally.

All three, I just do them in my spare time so I can only do a few a year and it usually takes a year till they are done. If your interested shoot me a pm..............................................
