your a contractor providing your own health insurance, retirement , liability insurance and tools ?
also he wasn't qualified to do your job
I also assume if you get bit , it is your problem to deal with
if an hourly employee of a union gets bit , they could be in workman's comp for a Long time while he recovers.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Would bet he was bottom of the pile employee. Teamsters cover a lot of folks and job types.

As Drifter said, Teamsters cover a lot of people. I retired from UPS as a journeyman mechanic. I was a Teamster, but so were the drivers, car wash folks, unloaded, pre loaders, and so on. And this was just UPS. There are many Teamster members around the country.

I am a teamster, been in the field doing hvac for 18 years. I do just fine. Don't make millions but I live comfortably and within my means.
I would say out of the 1500 members in our local, I would say it safe to say that 85% of us vote Republican. Not very many Biden voters but the ones that do have fallen off that cliff along time ago.

Red Webb, why would you say something like that? The Teamster officials at the very top may say they support one side but the members is a whole different view. The pay rate Teamsters receive is based on negotiation. Negotiation from both the company and the Teamsters. It is then set in their contract. Where BOTH parties agree to it.

I'm in the steel workers as is my entire plant except 2 guys and company employees. Our pay ranges from 28 and change to above 40 depending on job classification crafts ect. Our pension rate also changed with pay rate for those that have been her 17 years or more that still get a pension. Our 401 match is .75 per dollar we put in up to 6%
My health insurance includes vision and dental. 20 dollar Co pay 30 for specialists 75 for an er visit. Max out of pocket per person is $1,500 max per family is $3000. That cost me $51 a week.
I have moved around in the plant over the last 17 years and had higher pay grades I could have a job with top pay grade but currently at the lowest because I like the job and the scedual works for me.
At our lowest pay grade of 28 and change on our schedule with its built in over time working no additional guys make about 65k. But we have crazy amounts of availability for overtime and if you chose to you can make nort of $140k at that rate. So between fellow union members there is a large pay scale difference in the plant. Ther is also a large difference between what one person makes that have the same pay grade. Ther is one guy I hear complaining about money but the guy won't work any overtime. He could easily double his take home but chooses not to and complains instead.
So there are a lot of variables and it also depends on the individual your talking to mind set.

Union member's vote for Trump, pay dues to their beloved union thugs, thugs transfer that money into campaign's for democrats.
Not union country down here BUT the job market sort's things out without having to pay some thug part of your check, plants here now have high pay, benefits, retirement and since everyone is lazy now days even a 200 dollar a week attendance bonus if you can show up to work for 4 days in a row since they also went to 4 day work weeks since the worker's couldn't make it to work 5 days in a row. No idea why they don't unionize so they can get to support democrats like everyone else.

How much are teamster union dues? Right to work state here so have no experience. Ours is 2.5 times your hourly wage per month. Very little compared to what most pay for bad health insurance. We get medical/dental/vision for our whole family NO premiums, 200 per or 500 family out of pocket deductible. And our wages are the best in the industry.
