I’m looking to make grab and die lure holders and wondering how to build them. What do you use to hold the felt on with.

I used a hot-glue gun, worked great.

I buy the small foam bushes at the dollar store.

Buy some cheap Elmers glue or school glue from the dollar store or Walmart. Dip your dowel end into the glue about an inch to coat it, then roll, dip or sprinkle the glue dipped tip into some corn meal until you have covered all the glue. See which way gives you your best result.

You can do multiple layers if you want a larger thicker tip to grab. Allow some dry/set up time between coats. It will look like a giant matchstick when finished. The corn meal gives a nice, finished odor when dried. Lure or bait holds well, and the corn meal absorbs the odor.

Thanks, I think I’ll try each way and see what works best for me. I have used corn cob on dowels before and had good success with them..But you need a bunch of them as they come apart easily.

This depends on your states game laws but
If you keep the back sinew off deer and antelope you can use it as a wrap for tge tops it dries hard and gets good results

I used maple suckers growing out of last year's cut stumps. Cut to length. Strip off bark, put a point on them if you'd like (helps driving in hard ground). Hobby Lobby felt. Cut strips, glue on with hot melt. Really doesn't take long to make several dozen.

Ks wolfer is right, soaker hose on a dowel. You can wrap yarn around the end of a dowel then dip it in wax

I've tried making them, and find it a waste of time.

I just use peice of sheep hide, and spike it down with a nail.

Bait I use is m44 bait and bit N pull on it and bam I got'um.

Foot is deep in trap.
T-bone hammerd in all the way is ok also. So it can covered with dirt.
Hides the bait from bird's.

Let me sugar coat this

Beartooth. They are mission specific. One place. The raccons and other critters jack with them so bad. It makes no sense to use them. But here in West Texas I find them to do well. Low humidity lets the lure stick on to the grub stake and I have to relure less. In south? High humidity. A 6 inch wood qtip worked well here ? Nope. Dries up quick. So. Grub Stick at every set for me now. Plus. If grass. Grows up around trap? You can see Grub Stick. Caugh Coyote few days back. In set that was their 42 days

I buy a whole stick of 1/2 Schedule 40 pipe, cut into 8" lengths, and then hot glue burlap around one end. I find the burlap that works the best is the kind you can buy in the hobby stores on a roll for ribbon-making.

The hollow pipe does 3 things: 1) It's tough and doesn't splinter like wood when pounding in the ground 2) It's easy to clean the mud/dirt out of after pulling 3) The hollow part allows you to smear bait/lure down the hole and helps to somewhat rain-proof.

Hope this helps...

I’ve had plain pipes pulled up when putting them “hidden” in grass. Seems to be the same concept and a lot less work. May leave some more exposed this year and higher up just to see. Sheep’s wool down the pipe with a drop of lure would be the same, unless you’d think the pipe would somehow deter the coyote. I’ve had some so chewed up they were useless afterwards. Now that may be the fact they bored after being caught, but it caught them.
I’ve also had some chewed to the point of being flush with the deck when they get cemented in this awesome clay we have.
