Picked up a couple new bird guns while I was away. This gun was built ninety years ago and is in about 90-95% original condition. A crotchety old German trained gunsmith turned me on to it. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better made boxlock. 12 gauge, 28 inch barrels, 2 3/4" chambers choked modified and full. I haven't had a chance to put it on an accurate scale but it's heavy. Too nice a gun to pass up.

Thanks. Notice how all the screws are oriented north/south, east/west? They paid attention to the smallest details.

I would not have noticed the screws!
Does a gun that old have the damascus barrels?

That is not a shotgun...it's a piece of historical art!

Nicely done, Posco! Enjoy it!

Thanks, Mt. I'm just a custodian who will pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.

Thas very nice I'm a suckered for doubles. All mine are very cheap old models and most
t have been hard used. 2 were purchased after my wife grand father passed. One was his thenothe his brother's that died earlier. Thay got them at 9 or 10 and is what they feed the family with. They have been used hard.

But one of them points as naturally as pointing my finger.

It is unusual to find one chambered 2 3/4 inch. Most were short chambered in that era. Nice old scattergun!

I have nothing clever to put here.

Exactly right. I think this gun was built with American wildfowling in mind. Daly didn't build guns, he put his name on them and was an importer. The craftsmanship on this thing is incredible, the action looks like it was made yesterday.

You might appreciate the proof marks on this Daly. You see the 70mm (2 3/4") stamp and the 733. The 733 is July, 1933. I mentioned I picked up a couple new bird guns. Here's an Alexander Henry (Scottish maker)12 gauge built between WWI-WWII. It has 26" barrels choked full and improved cylinder. 6 lbs 2 1/2 oz. It shows some honest wear but it's in great shape. I spent hours and hours, day after day putting an oil finish on the stock. Tedious and time consuming.

I love American doubles, that's where I started out. Parker, Fox, L.C. Smith, Ithaca...I've owned them all. Great guns.

That's the first thing that caught my eye !. Beautiful gun !

I used to own a Sauer drilling. 16 gauge side by side with 8x57 JR rifle barrel underneath. I lost custody in a divorce
