Ask a kid in 10th grade the following question.
You have $50,000 in credit card debt ( along with over 2 million Americans) paying 20% interest.
You cut up your card and pay $800 per month.
How many years before your credit card debt is $0?

The only way to use credit cards that benefit you is to pay the balance off every month. Credit card interest is much higher than getting a regular bank loan.

Credit cards are a pretty safe way to buy stuff on line. Pretty safe way to get gas.

Takes some self discipline.

Many cards offer "cash back" but you dont really get cash. You can get a check. You get the cash back even if you never let them charge you interest.

I pay mine online from my checking account. I dont like the idea of them having access to my money without my monthly consent.

Only get cards with no annual fee. Heck you can pay the balance every couple weeks if you want.

Inflation came from all that free money being printed and distributed during the last several years.

And have been for years. I trap and move from place to place with no worries. Bank. Technically owns my 2022 Tacoma 4x4. BUT I could care less. STOP worrying about money. It doesn’t matter ! sharon the financial advisor. you just posted the best advice ive seen on here pertaining to credit cards. the only way to get into trouble with credit cards is by living beyond your means. between my son and i, i cant remember how many free guns, ammo, and tv's weve gotten for free with the cc points, and never paid a dime in interest.

Exactly. Also Randall could use cash for a car and not borrow. Many people do it.

I have one credit card to keep my credit score high, I used cash for a decade and had little credit after. Good credit gets better interest rates and other things not loan related but can save you money or be good for you. I think I read some employers check credit score and insurance companies 9ffer better rated to those with good credit
I try to rember to charge a tank of gas a month or buy a soda on the card and pay it off each month. Sometimes I forget to make a charge. I may charge a few hundred on something then pay it off over a month or two. Sure they make a litle interest but my card is 10% and the amounts are so small I don't notice it. I do notice my credit score being very good.

No credit cards here. If I want it, I pay cash. If I don’t have the cash, then I don’t need it.

I remember just a couple months ago Ice Cream Joe was going to punish those with high credit scores and charge a higher tax to give to those with a lower score so they could afford housing.

Same here. If I don't have Cash I don't buy it. But I do have a credit card. Its great for booking hotel rooms, rental cars, and on line purchases. When I use it I alway have the cash on hand to cover the charge. If you have fraud it's easier to get you money back on cc charged than a debit card linked directly to your bank account.

Your right Mando but I don't think it will last long. It sure is nice knowing if I want to buy something there is not a question if I can get the financing.

Pay it off every month and you'll be fine. My wife and I have ONE for convenience and airline miles. She even puts utilities on there for the miles.

Set up your cards to automatically electronically debit your checking account for the full balance every month and you never pay interest and raise your credit score way up there. There is a difference between needing something and wanting something. This is challenging for many of us.

Beaverpeeler. You are so right. I consider myself poor. Compared to most of yall. BUT. I get up when I want too. I quit trapping when I want too. If a friend calls and want me to go somewhere with them. I just go. Ben Lilly in his book talks about. Possessions. He looked at it like this. A man that owns to much. In the end. His possessions own him and he is NOT free to do as he pleases. What more could a man want than a great veiw like This every morning! LoL!

Got one but made sure to really research what I was getting. Also made sure to put up a barrier so I can't get myself in trouble. I know I can be stupid with money at times so made sure to get one with a smaller spending limit. Was only $500 to begin with now it's up to $800. Still can't get into much trouble with that and it's honestly more then enough for everything I need as far as emergencies, fun stuff and credit building. It's made me a good little bit of money so far just having it there . Credit Karma helps a lot to , makes it almost addicting to try and keep your score high. Most people would be better off without one thought because one most can't be real with themselves enough to limit themselves and two most are too lazy to try and self educate on the matter and end up in some deep door doo
