They may not be big iron beaver traps but don't tell that to the beaver that I've hauled to the truck.

I like big traps but the dukes flat out work for not much coin.

I like the CDR 7.5 and Bridger #5 LS. I will use Bridger #5 CS when I run out of CDRs. We are limited to an 8" jaw here.

If I was looking for an inexpensive trap I'd look at the #4 Duke for beaver

Not sure what your restrictions are, but for PA we cannot exceed 6.5" outside jaw spread. I just a dozen Beaver Extreme's from No-BS and a buddy of mine that's on this forum is going to modify them to be 6.5", so I'll have that much larger frame to be able to swallow up rear feet. He's also made a dozen Bridger #5 coils PA legal for me. Those don't fit what you're trying to do... I've used K-9 Extremes and really like them for beaver trapping given our restrictions... The most cost effective traps that I've used with success are just about all mentioned above- Duke #3, Duke #4, #4 Jumps that were modified with PIT pans and lams, #4 double long springs that have been modified with PIT pans and lams, and even had a #2 Duke dogless work well when I was short on traps years ago, just had to find the right situation where a front foot catch was most likely to be attained. These are all on 10' rebar drowning rods.
