Late bloomer. I think I was under 10. By the time I was shooting more than 45 lb I had had enough purple welps it didn't happen any more. Shoot some more and wack the same spot a 2nd time. I hear its a hoot. Man I don't miss that.

Wait tell you have your first bow blow up on you.

That is why they make arm guards.

I'm guessing, the draw length of your bow is a bit long. If not, an arm guard while you are perfecting your form may be helpful. I use an arm guard all the time, it keeps my loose camo out of the string while hunting.

That does not look as bad as some I have seen Wolfie
But I have done the same thing and know it does not feel good

I first started shooting a bow when I was about 12

Told my dad I needed one of those armguards. He laughed and said "you will learn how to keep it out of the way" laugh

I have an armguard somewhere for when I am hunting when it is real cold and have a bunch of layers on. Rare anymore that I will be bowhunting in those conditions

String slapping your inner arm is a lack of proper form in your bow arm. One of 2 things will occur in the future: you'll get slapped a few more times and say the heck with this, put the bow up and quit. Or, your form will correct...whether on it's own or with some coaching/training (in-person or watching videos.)

Ive shot bow for over 30 years. The absolute worst bow I ever had was a Mathews creed. I bet I've hit my arm a half dozen times in my life and 5 of those times was with that Creed. Got rid of it within a few months of buying it.

Time will tell. Those string slaps have a way of changing a man.

Turn your bow hand palm down. Don't shoot a bow with too long of a draw, it makes your chest stick out and arms go back making your bow hand rotate to your current arm slapping form.

Happens to everyone at one time or another.. could be just being sloppy, I find that I can get that way if I shoot too long.
