We haven't flooded here at our location but the house we used to own has flooded again just like during Irene. We sold it three years ago and lived there for 30 years and never had a flood problem until Irene. Now it's happened again. I feel so sorry for the lady that bought it. We didn't sell because of the flood. We didn't like living in Manchester anymore due to the politics. The riverbank had been washed out during the Irene storm and the state of VT stopped the town from going in and repairing the riverbank. Our old house was one of two that was not in the flood zone, we lived in a development with 40 houses. I lived about 300 yards from the Lyebrook river. We now live in Wells VT about 20 miles north of Manchester and the river runs out of Lake St. Catherine and through our 10 acres. While looking at the property to purchase I noticed it has a otter toilet on the riverbank, which I have a trail camera on and get some good videos. Flooding is such a horrible thing to go through and you feel so helpless. My heart goes out to all the people going through it.

The bitterness of poor quality last a lot longer than the sweetness of low price

Yes and it’s not always velocity that gets you but gage height. I’ve seen a lot of flood damage in eastern Ky.
