....that's not really racism....for the most part. It's basically similar a woman wanting a female gynecologist.some people are just more comfortable having someone of the same race be their whatever for multiple reasons . Honestly from a hat I've seen is it boils down to alot of people just arnt comfortable with someone from a different race when it comes to close matters like that. Dating and relationships being a main one . I see people say all the time that they don't want to date anyone who's not like them i.e black white Asian whatever, and no one really bats an eye...for the most part ..I find it pretty weird honestly but egh not really racism... At least in a super negative sense. And their are certain things that happen in each community that kinda makes people want to have certain people in their lives be of the same race or at least the same back ground. Barbers being a prime example of I'm out of town and need a cut 9/10 times I'm going to try and find a black barber . Simply because our hair is different and requiem different stuff then what most white barbers have/ know how to do. Being in an interracial relationship theirs a lot of time I have to get one of my white freinds to help with something going on with my gf and she has to do the same with me due to cultural differences . Personally theirs stuff I'm just plain more comfortable doing and talking to about with one race vs another
Then on the flip side you have folks like how my grandma used to be . Gave the the option bewen a black or white person to work on her whatever regardless of qualifications she'd pick a white person for reasons if prefer not to say here.
It's one of those things people try and make super cut and dry really theirs a lot of nuance to it...

And I've seen your grandma's opinion in action throughout my career. Back when I was managing techs I tried my hardest to hire and train dark skinned techs thinking they would knock it out of the park in certain communities.

Completely aside from finding dark skinned techs comfortable handling snakes I would get more calls to come out and talk to their customers and I could always smooth things over and I know that was not because I said anything different. I had trained those guys so we were saying and doing the exact same thing so go figure.

Bottom line humans are weird critters at the same time looking to group up in same camps while wanting to avoid anything different while prizing our individuality that ensures none are ever the same.

I only try and go to white or Asian doctors because I know they didn't get into school or get their job due to affirmative action.

I don't go to doctors as a rule. They are all college trained and most ain't got sense enough to pour pee out of a boot.

It is embarrassing to watch a bunch of so called conservatives act like victims. Now you are victims of racism.

No. Gender is not the same as race. I wouldn't want a man of ANY race in "sensitive medical things", as my doc, if I could have just as good medical help from a female. Sex , gender, is NOT the same as race. That's an old but erroneous thought that is tackled too often.

Men and women are obviously different in many ways ,the skin tone is irrelevant in comparison. That's why girl's teams and boy's teams, clubs, organizations, dorms, shower rooms, are separated. With any race using them, but NOT gender mixing.

Growing up with everyone in the deep south, I never even considered cultural differences. Though there are even differences between those of the same races. Dialects of regional differences, it is called. Country, religion, northern or southern residences.

Those differences in culture are equally among same race peoples. As well as different races. That was never in the way of all those I grew up with, and to this day. I also understand very well, mixed racial couples. You don't even think about that stuff . And neither do the couple's friends.

I don't care if a man or woman pilots my plane. As long as they are good at their job.

Race is such an afterthought for me , that's the same level of thought , that they must breathe air to operate safely...

Guess I’m different, I got women Docs as my regular Physician and Gastro Doc. I prefer women because they tend to spend more time listening…don’t tell my wife. They also have smaller fingers, lol.
