I'm in the process of sorting through boxes of stuff in my old shed, so I can tear it down and put in a new larger one. I'm running across some stuff I forgot I had. Below are some finds.

A few old bottles of Beaver Plus that dad bottled.


Some old bottles of his Dirt Hole Food Lure. I never found his recipe for this lure.


Some old bottles of his Dirt Hole Curiosity Lure. I never found this recipe either.


A box of Colvin's Good Luck lures. There was even a bottle of his GL40 in there, which is the lure I named one of mine after. Quite a few of them are partials, because they had been used by dad.


A couple boxes of Mike Stechnecki's lures. Many of the labels are gone or deteriorated so much that they can't be made out. I'm not sure what to do with these. I may just hand them out to kids at the conventions.

Did Charlie get his lure recipes from Colvin? Not sure I read that anywhere???

I'll check later to see if I can figure out what may be in the beaver lures besides castor. I'm heading out to check some nutria traps now.

Dad didn't get Sheldon's recipes. From what dad said, Sheldon kept all his formulas in his head with nothing written down.

I still have one of your dads #2 double long spring traps he laminated with his trap tag. I think of your father and our visits over the years. I can still see him set up with a small table at the open tail gate of his truck with his bunk bed on one side of his truck bed.

I'll see your Beaver Plus and raise you a Beaver Plus! This is a jar of "Beaver Plus" Charles gave me to test before it was Beaver Plus. It didn't have a name so he just wrapped a piece of gray tape around the bottle to identify it. My notes reference it as "gray tape". I asked him was it was, and he said it was primarily his beaver lure "plus a few more ingredients". I told him he should call it Beaver Plus. He did. I've hung on to that jar for 30 years, maybe longer. It will stay on the shelf.

I've got dad's workmate stand with the vice still in it. In the vice is a coil spring trap with a piece of metal between the jaws and vice grips holding laminations on one of the jaws. He was using rivets to install laminations, because he knew that not everyone had a welder. This was going to be the next thing he was going to introduce. This workmate is still in the same condition as when I found it in the garage shortly after his death. I'll try to get some pictures of it tomorrow.
