You can get insurance for the water and sewer lines that run from your house to the town lines.
The insurance is cheap, and it sounds like you will get to use it before paying too long.

Is that the green pipe? It's tough stuff and if it's the pipe I'm thinking he'll never have another problem again. Seems to me that you're giving a good deal.

You already spent enough to replace it . There are companies that do "digless" replacement. (their words not mine) Look into that or dig it up

Digless replacements . I talk one about lining. They still got dig. He say it be Same cost as new line if not higher . 92 ft. Measure camera, yes it goes underneath the whole old 2 ND drive with not good concrete I rarely drive in beside house an under new sidewalk slab. Hook up new main pipe that goes as far as sidewalk . I bought different root killers after plumber . They say roots in every section. Then after but it. An use it. I stupidly call the chemical co an mist them say it work with that long line. Foam kind no good. Green gobbler no good. It is nomore then sidewalk deicer. I have a gallon it an never use it. To big chunks. Co say it we'll do nothing in long line. Only thing work in longer line is zep or k77, it is 99 per cent of chemical copper sulfate . Bad stuff. But was told by plumber when u use it. The water u flush down toilet 4 times, 2 lbs in 1/2 lbs each flush. That water we'll flow with it in bottom pipe. An water we'll be maybe 1/2 high. Well do nothing if roots are not on bottom pipe an not touch it . The plumber say about reline, say that stuff a gimic . He say flush a heap cup solar salt down it a cpl time a week an flush it down one an flush again after an not restrict water flow . I have probly use 30 lbs salt since Feb do that . Chemical co say the root killer , only kill roots that are less then size pencil in pipe . I wash oil stain cloths from work with go jo on them sometimes . I don't think thick oil that went thru apron an on cloths some would clog pipe if run water ? I use more water since this happen an wash cloths every day to keep pipe clean out ? Plumber say roots are worse if use less water. Might last long time . More concerned about in winter as when happen. Use more water then in past . Maybe solar salt clean it out , to much money for me replace. Sewer more expensive then water line by far . Prices with inflation are crazy . The st project cost $8 grand with 30 days to pay or big penality . Mortgage co finally pay at last min. Almost to late so cost me nearly $150 mo. More for next 5 years,at first they want it back in 1 year

Clay pipe and cast Iron just dig it all up and replace it or repeat what you have all ready done and spent money on every year.

Get a 5 gallon bucket with a commode seat on it. Empty in neighbors back yard every other day. At night of course. You'll thank me later for saving you a boat load of money.

Tree root killer In pipe well not kill tree. U be lucky if get roots. I sure it kill some roots in pipe but I doubt all . Some say to restrict water usage for 8 hrs after use root kill an some say don't . It might get roots that clear out 75 ft was where problem was twice . When unclog it in Feb, it was most dirtiest job ever for me with haul an scoop out buckets of sewer crap bfore clear line N barely keep up to it. Dump lawn on snow . Later dry. I take up an put garbage. There nothing I could do unless want go over top sump well under sewer cap open an flood cellar floor an then what ? Been screed . I had take shower an wash all my cloths after it . It wasn't bad for plumbers. 2 men. Dbl charge per hr plus $300 machine charge for hydrojett trailer . The hydrojett is not a big deal . If live elsewhere u could find someone who does expert job an just clean out sewers everyday

I wonder if ok idea to flush a heap cup of solar salt down toilet twice a week . Not on consecutive days. Dump cup in. Flush once an then once more is what one plumber say an then normal water usage ? If didn't use water after put salt in an flush for 45 min to hour later bfore flush again. If solar salt could bridge what didn't dissolve right away an harden into mass on bottom pipe ? Or would that take extended time if use no water after apply to harden ? It don't dissolve all the solar salt crystals, in 2 flushes when add it

Maybe dig a sesspool in the back yard. It could double for raising shrimp and other farmed product like they do overseas

Have you ever considered a reverse mortgage loan?

If I understand your situation right, you'd probably be a good candidate for one.

Check with the city. Many cities have programs in place to help people with properties in the city that are aging. They have long term payment options among other things. Some have city sourced insurance policies you can buy for this problem.

Anyone know what symptoms of collapsed line are ? I don't notice anything different go on except a little more smellier in cellar but I'm summer an not real perfect clean old basement , could be anything . No water backups . Nothing abnormal. If collapsed . Wouldn't it backup ? , When it was plugged, it would ooze out cracks in wall when run washer from cracks in sewer pipe. If sewer gas, how bad would stench be ? I don't notice nothing severe bad , I would think u would have a backup of water for sure if collapse .? I notice none that, drain good with washer discharge water an sound normal by pipe when listen

what did the plumber say to reline it?

I expect that is a tube they run down the line and inflate . has a heat activated resin that makes if stick to the inside of the pipe , then harden

it gets the sewage past the roots to the main, by doing so the roots stop pushing into the clay pipe because they don't get the nutrients the tree is looking for

it might solve the issue for some years

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
