For starts, i’m Not necessarily the type of guy to keep a clean truck. I recently sold my 2011 GMC Sierra with 240,000 miles and upgraded to a 2021 Sierra with 19,000 miles. I never waxed my old truck, or really washed it. This truck, however, I would like to take better care of. I’d like to keep it fairly clean and a coat of wax might help it once or twice a year. I washed it yesterday and applied a coat of Meguirs “wax as you dry” spray. It looks nice, but I know it’s not as good as an actual wax. So I’m asking, what type of wax do you prefer? How often do you apply? Anyone ever use “Nu Finish”? (I have an unopened bottle that was given to me by my father in law, he likes it). Not looking to keep a showroom truck, just trying to care of my every day vehicle , which will also serve as a hunting/trapping/farm truck. Thanks for any tips

I used some Nu finish on an old paint job one time , worked awesome
I just wash my trucks with a soap and wax combo from Costco
I don't know if it's a gimmick or not , but I will probably mile the truck out before the paint job goes

Meguires is a good all around wax. If you want something a little more pricey chemical guys make a great line of car products. Eric

Get some California Gold Spray wax...and a clay bar...for removing some nasty pine pitch or bug guts.
Just spray on...wipe right off.
But use Micro fiber cloths .
Easy Peeze

If Yinz navah used a clay baah....just spray some of that spray wax on said boogers...then take the clay bar and rub that area until booger is removed.
The clay bar needs that wax as a lubricant to be effective.
You can do your whole car ..with that little clay bar too.
The best thing ...is that I do my glass on my vehicles the same way. No streaks and looks unbelievable
Do inside and out on the glass...you won't be disappointed

I use Turtle Wax, wax on wax off.
Just do it once a year.
Have used some others , good and bad.
Just keep falling back to Turtle Wax.

Nu Finish is one I've used quite a bit. Once on it's good for a year.
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

= Now this stuff or any wax...is not going to bring back a dull ,scratched ,weather beaten , neglected vehicle. This stuff ..is for maintaining a newer finish . Most vehicles need a buffing with a rotary buffer and heavy compound....then a glaze compound with a foam buffing pad...to bring back a beautiful lustah. And to remove all the fine scratches and weathah elements...Then the California Gold Spray wax maintains that finish.

From my vintage collection - ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/07/full-3135-182820-20230716_142059.jpg) Nessy probably remembers this stuff.
