I've gained permission on a big deer lease near our cabin and my main target is bobcats. I don't have cats around where I live so I'm not real familiar with their sign and habits yet. I trapped this land last year and caught 2 bobcats and a few totes but I feel like the cats were just luck. This off-season I'm really trying to find and learn about their locations and habits. I've got a decent amount of trail cam pics so far but have a hard time seeing the difference in cat and fox scat. I've found some yesterday which I think is a small "toilet" but would like help from the experts. There is this type scat all over the ridge top this is just the most at one area. Strip mine area and it's all on top of the highest point in the area. Nasty thick laurel and small pines around. Thanks for any advice, I know the one pile in the "toilet" is coyote. Edit:unable to upload the toilet pic but here is some nearby[Linked Image]

You’re in the cats.

Cats tend to use the same areas every year.
I wait until snow falls and look for tracks where they hunt and to locate their travel routes between hunting areas.

Haha! I was thinking what more sign do you want??

And listen to Boco. I have a spot on each of my properties that I set every year and they always produce cats. If you find sign, which you have, just put a set. You find a toilet and you’ll catch a cat or several.

Pa has a good cat population. I catch many every year in canine sets. Get tired of releasing them all. Yes you have some good marking spots that the cats are using when they come thru those points of interest. Isn't difficult to catch your limit in Pa. these days.
