Rest easy now Coonman. Looks like bee or wasp stings are not fatal to you.

Sevin dust works better and is relatively cheap. Just dump it heavily around where you think the hole they are using is and you'll be good to mow in about 10 minutes.

Walmart, most hardware stores and any of the big Home Improvement stores carry Sevin Dust. It should be under $10.00 for a canister. Sevin is the brand name. Carbaryl is the active ingredient and the knock off versions of Sevin, that just contain carbaryl work just as well.

It's very safe for animals with a backbone. I've put it on dogs, goats and birds, thousands of times, with no ill effects. It won't hurt you to get it on you while mowing.

Go out and watch your lawn carefully in different sections. If you have a ground nest of yellow jackets you will notice the back and forth traffic of the bees. It will be like an airport with flight to and from the burrow entry hole. Once you find it you can dust it well into the burrow. Do not plug the entry with dust. Just coat it so they will carry it into the hive nest.

Yes, the larger bees and hornets can sting you though jeans. Even honey bees can sometimes get you through jeans. Just heavily dust the entire area with Sevin Dust and you'll kill them.

Dave my boys have got into 3 different nest of yellow jackets in the last week. The 10 year old got into some on the small zero turn and got hit in the face overtime his left eye and on his nose 4 times. I'm AR work and my wife told me they also are out wher either moved the gate to. They lit the boys and were nailing the goats. They also have a nest on the boys bow range and lit them up there.

My wife asked me how much taurus SC gets mixed into the 10 oz can of chicken. I told her 1/4 tea spoon and put it inside a wire cage so nothing else unintended can get into it. Hopefully they are wiped out soon and I didn't have to go looking for the entrance holes.

Depends on each individual , know of a man that was driving down the road , right in front of a hospital.
Open window during the summer , got stung on the face, went right into the hospital, and was dead in minutes.
Don't know everything, as to if he knew he was allergic , or how long he had to wait to see a doctor.
Just what the news said years ago.
It was said that it was a yellow jacket that stung him.

I found ground nest . In break in old plastic tile that exposed in small spot. . by stand around an watch,
100s of wasps or yellow jackets, I think what got me was younger ones that irritated by me walk over tile. I empty out what left of can in tile. Got lots but still lot activity. Didn't cut grass anywhere near it. Have buy some more spray. Or look for dust . Not sure if this spray stuff works on every bee. May been 2 different kinds . Unless yellowjacket is a wasp

Thanks for all advice . I hope to get some the dust insecticide today an put it on the tile open at nite with flashlite, hope not trouble at nite with attack with dump on tile we're broke an entry pont . Still lot activity there. I think yellow jackets are one worse get stung by. Read up on them. A sentry look outs guard the entry to nest. Queen in winter go deep in ground. There possibly set up in carport to lately we're roof meet side somewhere hidden. I have spray I'm past around soffit or top siding under roof in past as well ground nest but those for wasp. Not seen lot yellow jackets or notice before . The dust insectide . U need wear gloves an mask both ? Would stray cats be attract to it or harm them? I have some neighborhood cats that pass thru area at nite an feed nitely at my place

Dave-Several years ago I was outside of my house and saw Yellowjackets going into the foundation through a little hole. I went down in the basement and I actually heard a hum in the area where the hole was there were so many in my foundation. As I stood there they started coming out from behind my breaker box. Must have been hundreds if not thousands of them in the wall.

Posted here on T-man for help on what to do. I think it was Drifter that told me about Sevin Dust. Ran to Menards and got a can of it an put it around the hole on the outside like Drifter told me to do. The next morning they were all dead and gone I figured. Put some of the Sevin Dust in a ketchup squeeze bottle from the Dollar Store
and squirted a good amount of it into the foundation, then I sealed the hole. Not a single one after that.

Keep looking for Sevin Dust and put it into ever hole where you see the bees. It works! Thanks again to Drifter for the help!

It won't hurt cats. Heck I'm almost sure it's the same stuff they sell as flee powder at the vet.
