He is ten old. Couple nights ago while staying at a friend's house he spilled gasoline on his bare legs. Wearing shorts, it ignited, burning his legs, belly n butt. Second degree burns, tomorrow they find out what the plan is, how long he will be in the hospital. They flew him immediately to st Paul Minnesota on a hospital plane. It's a three hour drive by car. He is doing ok considering it could have been worse, glad his face and thingamajig wasn't burned. He might need some skin grafts, probably find out tomorrow. Prayers to heal well would be great, thanks!

He must've been by an open flame or something to ignite it. I hope everything works out and he makes a full recovery. I'll be thinking of him. I think you are right, I heard they were supposed to be in bed. I wonder if the two boys went outside to restart a back yard fire pit or ring. They probably saw dad do it, idk, they probably had no idea how flammable or explosive gas fumes are. When I get a chance after he gets home I'll make sure he knows. Dang kids

I was taught the dangers of fire from the time I could walk. But I never thought about the dangers of things that came off of the fire, lol. I ran into my grandfather full bore causing him to spill his cup of just taken off the open fire coffee completely down my back. My entire back was 2nd and 3rd degree burns but they just heeled on their own. Doctor's didn't seem to be out for money then the way they are now. I really believe though that if more parents taught kids basic life skills things like this wouldn't happen. The coffee incident happened when I was 5. By 8 I could build a fire in the pouring rain, cook basic foods over it, and be sure it was safe before ever thinking of bed.

My thoughts and prayers go out for your Grandchild. May he heal fast and learn quicker. I had an Uncle severely burned and I know getting them to the hospital ASAP is paramount. I'm glad he got there quick and is in safe hands.

I sure am glad he will be OK.

They brought the boy to an excellent place to be treated. There are few places on this planet as humbling as a hospital burn unit. I wish him the best.
